Athletic Achievements- 2010-2011

All-SEC Preseason Selection




Brother Chris Marve (Spring 2009) was recently named to Phil Steele's All-SEC Preseason 2nd Team. He was also named one of the captains of the Vanderbilt Football Team. The Nu Rho chapter continues to achieve in every field of human endeavor, including the football field!

Fraternity Achievements 2010-2011

Kappa Alpha Psi Undergraduate Leadership Institute

Brothers Nate Marshall and Jeremy Williams (Spring 2009) are 2010 Kappa Fellows for the Fraternity's Undergraduate Leadership Institute. The brothers took part in an intensive week-long institute in Cincinnati, OH sponsored by the Fraternity and GE. They were 2 of only 47 undergraduate brothers to receive this prestigious honor nationwide. Nu Rho is proud that its brothers have been recognized as being a part of the forefront of leadership in this Noble Klan.

South Central Province Board of Directors






Brother Jeremy Williams (Spring 2009) was recently appointed to the South Central Province's Board of Directors. Bro. Williams will serve for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year as an Undergraduate Board Member. Nu Rho is proud to see its impact in the Fraternity reach beyond Vanderbilt's campus and throughout the region!

2009-2010 Chancellor Heard Greek Awards

This year the Brothers of Nu Rho were incredibly successful at Vanderbilt's Chancellor Heard Awards. They received three Greek Awards, tied for the most of any NPHC organization. The chapter received Oustanding Campus Involvement and Most Improved Chapter. The chapter advisor Eugene S. Hampton II received Advisor of the Year. In addition to these awards, two Nu Rho Brothers were inducted into the inaugural class of Vanderbilt's Greek Who's Who. The chapter looks forward to building on this success to increase its success and influence in the future.

Spring 2010- Step Show

On March 20, 2010 The Brothers of Nu Rho Chapter competed in the annual MOSAIC Step Show at Vanderbilt University. The Brothers had a very special guest in their performance, the Provost of Vanderbilt University, Richard McCarty. Provost McCarty was very gracious in his cooperation and participation and the chapter would like to acknowledge him for all his effort.

Chartering Anniversary


On this day 21 years ago the Nu Rho chapter received its charter at Vanderbilt University. Thanks to the 7 Diamonds of Genesis (Fall 86), the 8 Disciples of Destiny (Spring 88), and all the other brothers that have entered the Bond of Kappa Alpha Psi by way of Nu Rho. YO!

Brothers Accepted into Order of Omega


Brothers Edverette Brewster (Fall 08) and Nate Marshall (Spring 09) of the Nu Rho chapter were accepted into the Vanderbilt chapter of the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. The Nu Rho chapter continues to achieve in the classroom and across the campus.

Athletic Achievements- Spring 2010

Brother Derrick Gragg (Spring 90) was inducted into the Huntsville/ Madison County Sports Hall of Fame for his multiple sport prowess in high school, his All-Academic SEC team as a wide receiver, and activities as athletic director at Eastern Michigan University. The light of Nu Rho and Kappa Alpha Psi continues to shine far beyond the campus of Vanderbilt University.

All-SEC Second Team




Bro. Chris Marve (Spring 09) was elected to the All-SEC Second Team for his outstanding performance in Vanderbilt’s 2009 football campaign. As the starting middle linebacker Bro. Marve was among the leaders in the SEC in tackles and finished 15th in the nation in tackles as only a redshirt sophomore. Congratulations to Bro. Marve and the chapter Brothers look forward to supporting him in his future endeavors.

Bro. Jeremy Williams (Spring 09) was elected this fall to the office of Greek House/Off Campus Representative in Vanderbilt Student Government.

Nu Rho is making its mark throughout the campus!

VUcept




This fall Bro. Jeremy Williams (Spring 09) was a student leader in Vanderbilt’s VUcept program for first-year orientation. Bro. Williams was the only member of the NPHC that served in this year’s VUcept program. 

Campus Involvement



For the 2009-2010 school year 100% of the chapter is involved actively with at least one other campus organization. 

Academic Achievements- Fall 2009

Chapter GPA




This fall two brothers of the Nu Rho chapter achieved Dean’s List honors. Bro. Edverette Brewster (Fall 08) and Bro. Nate Marshall (Spring 09) both achieved GPAs of greater than 3.5 with Bro. Brewster earning the highest GPA in the chapter (3.86).  No Brother had a GPA below a 2.0. The chapter continues to improve academically. The chapter's overall GPA for the fall was the highest it has been in recent history. Congrats to all the Brothers and Bro. Brewster in particular.
